Did you know that your family is a little church? Every family is called to be a place of prayer, service, and love – a “little Church of the home”. It is sometimes called the domestic church. It is in the context of the family that we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us. Especially during these challenging times, the Lord is inviting us to grow in faith at home—to build a civilization of love.
Since March of 2020, life has changed for all of us in one way or another, including the practice of our faith. The one constant in our lives is the personal love Our Lord and Savior has for each one of us. Jesus’ love for each of us will never end—He is always present no matter what. His love will sustain us through every trial we face. Now more than ever we need to experience and share His love, even if we cannot attend Mass or be in community with our fellow parishioners at this time.
Through our new “Families Fully Alive” newsletter, we hope to equip you and your families, children, and grandchildren with tools to build your little church. We desire to help you grow in love, knowledge, and awe of God our creator, Jesus our savior, and the Holy Spirit our comforter. On this webpage you will find additional resources for the topics covered in the newsletter.
The clergy and staff of Good Shepherd are praying for your family and our entire community during this challenging time in our history. May God bless you and keep you and your families, may he make His face to shine upon you and grant you His peace. Amen.
