The Children’s Mass (offered at 10:15 AM on the 2nd and/or 4th Sundays each month) allow children and families to participate more fully and serve others at Mass. We need families just like YOURS to sign up as Ushers, Greeters, Lectors, or Prayer Leaders. CLICK HERE to sign up now!
Before Mass, USHERS assist with seating inside the church. Ushers also release the pews at Communion, and pass out bulletins after Mass.
GREETERS serve before Mass only, standing at the outer doors at the back of the church, or at the vestibule table, welcoming people and handing out scripture sheets.
LECTORS proclaim the First and/or Second Reading during the Liturgy of the Word. TRAINING REQUIRED Lectors are scheduled through the Ministry Scheduler Pro app. For Children’s Masses ONLY, confident readers ages 10 and older may request training by contacting Diana Grosh at [email protected] Once training is complete, youth Lectors will be added to the schedule rotation.
PRAYER LEADERS lead the congregation in praying the first several Prayers of the Faithful. The deacon will take over to read the names of the sick and deceased. For confident readers age 8 and up.
ANNOUNCEMENTS after Mass, if needed, may be given by children, confident readers ages 8 and up, or parent/child pairs.
Often at the Children’s Mass, the priest or deacon will adapt his message for the children, calling them to come sit up front for the homily.
As a reminder: Those serving Mass have taken on a particular duty to model reverence in dress and demeanor. Please do not take photos/videos of your children during Mass.
