The goal of Religious Education is faith formation -- to help to make a person's "faith become living, conscious, and active, through the light of instruction."

SACRAMENTAL
Baptism
Infant - Classes are held the first Sunday of each month for registered parishioners. Call the Parish Office at 850-893-1837 for more information and to register.

First Communion/First Reconciliation
Both sacraments are celebrated in grade 2. There is a prerequisite of one year of religious education prior to receiving First Communion and First Reconciliation.

Confirmation
Confirmation classes are available for students in Grade 8, or above, and Trinity Catholic students. Visit the Confirmation Program web pages for detailed information.
Children's Initiation
Any child or youth in grades 2-8 who has not celebrated the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) or
First Reconciliation will participate in the Children's Initiation Program.
High School Catechesis is available for those who need preparation for the celebration of Sacraments of Initiation and First Reconciliation.
EDUCATION
Classes are available for Preschool (3 & 4 year old), Kindergarten and grades 1-8. All classes are taught by teams of two.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
VBS is a fun-filled week of music, crafts, activities and Bible adventure held each June. The theme for 2008 -- Power Lab - Discovering Jesus's Miraculous Power. Visit the Power Lab web page for more information.

Sacred Heart Home Educators
A Catholic homeschooling group in Tallahassee with co-op classes at Good Shepherd on Thursday afternoons and attendance at First Friday Masses. Act ivies are designed to provide spiritual support and educational enrichment. For information, contact Kathleen Button at klbuttton@comcast.net.
FORMATION
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Available each Sunday during the 10:15 a.m. and 12:00 noon Masses, children age 5 through 5th grade are invited to the Parish Center to hear the weekly readings at their level.
- Free Mass Leaflets - Pick up copies of the week's readings for children from the bookrack. Four versions available: Seeds for preschool, Explaining God's Word for grades 1-3, The Good News Weekly for grades 4-6, and Visions for grades 7-8.
Scout Religion Awards
Available for girls in grades 2-10 and boys in grades 1-5. For information, contact Diane Molitaris at scaringeb@gs.ptdiocese.org.
Middle School & Teen Web site
