FAITH FORMATION
Faith Formation guides, oversees, and enables the faith formation of adults, youth, and children by providing them the knowledge, experiences, skills, and community to form their hearts and minds to be faithful and fruitful disciples of Christ. Its purpose is to foster a living, conscious, and active faith through understanding correctly the teachings of the Catholic faith, and, in keeping with their age, to help each assume responsibility as a vital member of the parish. (Mt. 28:18-20)
Volunteers are needed to serve as teachers for children in the Religious Education program, grades pre-K through Grade 8. Classes are taught by teams of two. Training and support are provided. Aides and substitute teachers are also needed. Visit the Faith Formation web pages for more information.

A variety of adult faith formation programs are available, including bible study, small sharing groups, sacramental preparation, and educational classes. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process by which the Catholic Church brings adults into full communion with the Church through the preparation for and reception of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
A ful-filled week of music, crafts, activities and Bible adventure held each June at good Shepherd. Adult and youth volunteers are needed, as well as donation of craft supplies, snacks, etc. Visit the Religious Education web page for more information.

Sacred Heart Homeschoolers
Sacred Heart Homeschoolers provide education in the home for the benefit of our children, to educate them in the love of the Sacred Heart and to provide a classical education in coordination with other home school families. The home school families meet every Thursday at Good Shepherd for co-op classes.

Natural Family Planning
Teaches couples the latest ways to recognize and interpret fertility for family planning purposes to enable a couple to live their marriage in accordance with the Church's teaching on sexuality and the family.

Fraternus
Fraternus is a virtue-based formation program for 6th to 12th grade young men. Fraternus addresses the four main obstacles young men face in their pursuit of a virtuous life; forgotten virtues, fatherless generations, false identities and finding God's call. Through spiritual formation, man to man mentoring, rank advancement and outdoor integration, boys are formed into chaste young men of integrity, faithful to the Catholic Church, and disciples of Jesus Christ.

JustFaith
JustFaith is a formation process and spiritual journey. Over the course of 7-8 months, participants meet weekly for readings, videos, lecture, discussion, prayer, retreats, and hands-on experiences in justice education. Participants are exposed to an indepth course of study, but also are afforded the privilege of becoming a small faith community with other participants.

Secular Franciscans
The Secular Franciscan Order is an order within the Catholic Church. Members strive to live the Gospel in the manner of St. Francis by spreading the gospel by word and example in their homs, at work and in their parishes. Meetings are on the second Saturday morning of each month.

Lay Carmelites
The Lay Carmelites meet on the first Sunday of the month at 2:30pm in the Marian Room of the Shook Parish Hall at St. Louis Church. If you want to know more about the ways Our Lady is calling us to be closer to her Son, Jesus, then please join us. You already know many of our brothers and sisters “in Carmel” : St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and many, many more. Lay Dominicans
Lay Dominicans are members of the Order of Preachers (the Dominicans) and possess a profound dedication to the charism of St. Dominic. The Dominican Order has included in its number St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Rose of Lima, St. Martin de Porres, and Blessed Pier-Giorgio Frassati. Lay Dominicans del Espiritu Santo are an emerging group in the Tallahassee area. We meet monthly at the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More.

There are a variety of middle school programs at Good Shepherd, including the semi-monthly "EDGE" meeting focusing on prayer, fun and games, social time and food. Youth Ministry - High School
High school programs include the Life Teen Mass and Life Night every Sunday evening and W4: Wear It, Witness, Worship Wednesdays. Several weekend retreats are held both at Good Shepherd and at other locations. Youth are active in many outreach ministries throughout the year. The Core Team helps to plan and implement high school events. Volunteers are also needed to help with chaperoning, driving and providing food. Visit the Youth web site for more information.
