Good Shepherd Ministries are encouraged to operate as Small Christian Communities incorporating the 5 elements of community in their meetings and activities. In particular meetings should incorporate prayer and faith sharing, using the outline below.

BECOMING INVOLVED IN A MINISTRY

If you would like to become involved in a ministry, contact the Ministry Leader directly. Contact information is listed in the ministry descriptrions or complete a Ministry Registration Form and return it to the Parish Office.

LEADERSHIP

Pastoral Council - ensures the life of the parish reflects the mission of Jesus and that all parishioners are encouraged and provided an opportunity to participate in this mission

Finance Council - assists the pastor in the administration of the goods of the parish. The Council establishes, reviews and coordinates the parish budget and presents an annual report to the parish. The Council also reviews financial reports, contracts and agreements. Members are appointed by the pastor.

Coordinating Community for Small Christian Communities - Plans and coordinates the overall pastoral direction that envisions Good Shepherd as a “community of small communities.”  Visit the Small Christian Communities web page for more information.

Stewardship Core Community - Plans and coordinates efforts to develop stewardship as a way of life in the parish. More information is available on the Stewardship web page.

Worship Core Community - Oversees and faciitates all communal worship experiences of the parish and is responsible for assuring that these activities remain focused on "Worshipping the Father in Spirit and in Truth." Visit the Worship Core Community web page for additional information.

Evangelization Core Community - Oversees and faciitates evangelization activities of the parish to communicate the message of salvation in Jesus Christ and the fullness of the good news to inactive and alienated Catholics, members of other faiths who are not active in their congregations and the unchurched. MINISTRIES

Prayer & Liturgy - The mission of Prayer and Liturgy ministries is to support all aspects of communal worship, to ensure adequate preparation for each Mass and each Liturgical season of the year, to encourage parishioners to actively participate in worship activities, and to foster individual spiritual growth and prayer life.

Faith Formation - Faith Formation guides, oversees, and enables the faith formation of adults, youth, and children by providing them the knowledge, experiences, skills, and community to form their hearts and minds to be faithful and fruitful disciples of Christ.  Its purpose is to foster a living, conscious, and active faith through understanding correctly the teachings of the Catholic faith, and, in keeping with their age, to help each assume responsibility as a vital member of the parish.

Fellowship & Evangelization - The mission of Fellowship & Evangelization ministries is to support activities which promote spiritual renewal and strengthen faith sharing, prayer and fellowship within the parish (individuals as well as families).

Mercy & Justice -The mission of Mercy & Justice ministries is to support parish social ministry activities related to corporal & spiritual works of mercy, companionship to those in need, education (Catholic social teaching & social justice programs), community & global solidarity, and social justice advocacy.

Facilities -The mission of the Facilities ministries is to oversee and manage the physical care and maintenance of the parish building, grounds and equipment. This also includes the planning of future material and physical needs of the parish.
